Feeding South Dakota says it's time to 'Beef It Up'

May is National Beef Month and Feeding South Dakota is encouraging residents to "Beef It Up."

The South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation, Beef Industry Council, and Retailers Association are joining the effort to provide beef to individuals facing hunger.

"When grocery budgets get tight, people using our programs tell us that animal protein is one of the first items they stop buying," said Feeding South Dakota CEO Lori Dykstra.

The Beef it Up, South Dakota campaign aims to raise funds to purchase beef products for distribution.

Parker Freeze Dry is matching all donations, and several retailers are donating a portion of their May proceeds to Feeding South Dakota.
