REPUBLICAN PARTY. A CRIMINAL INDICTMENT OF A FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES IN A CASE INVOLVING ALLEGATIONS OF HUSH MONEY PAID TO A FORMER ADULT FILM ACTRESS WOULD BE NEW POLITICAL TERRITORY FOR AMERICA. BUT SUPPORTERS OF DONALD TRUMP HERE IN NEW HAMPSHIRE SEE A POTENTIAL ARREST AS JUST ANOTHER CONSPIRACY. I THINK IT’S VERY RIDICULOUS. THE PRESIDENT’S DONE SO MUCH FOR THIS COUNTRY THAT IT’S JUST A REGULAR, REGULAR ONE CHANCE STUFF THAT’S BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS. SEVEN YEARS AGO, THIS STARTED AND IT’S STILL GOING ON NOW. THE SMALL NUMBER OF GOP VOICES THAT HAVE TRADITIONALLY OPPOSED TRUMP WELCOME. WHAT THEY SAY IS THE POTENTIAL FOR ACCOUNTABILITY. IF A PROSECUTOR HAS ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO CHARGE TRUMP WITH A CRIME. THEN THEY SAY, LET THE LEGAL PROCESS PLAY ITSELF OUT WITH THE FORMER PRESIDENT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT LEVEL THE CHARGE IS. WHAT MATTERS IS THAT WE ARE ALL HELD EQUALLY TO THAT LAW. AND WHEN PEOPLE IN POWER ARE GIVEN A PASS, IT FEEDS THE CORRUPTION. OVER THE WEEKEND ON CNN, GOVERNOR CHRIS SUNUNU SAID HE THINKS IT COULD GENERATE A LOT OF SYMPATHY FOR TRUMP IF THIS CASE MOVES FORWARD. WE ASKED THE GOVERNOR ABOUT THE FORMER PRESIDENT’S SOCIAL MEDIA CALLS FOR PROTEST TO QUOTE, TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK IN THE EVENT OF AN ARREST BECAUSE THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH PROTESTERS, LONG AS THEY’RE PEACEFUL. IT’S EVERYONE’S CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO DO THAT. BUT WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARE PEACEFUL AND THAT FOLKS UNDERSTAND THAT, YOU KNOW, IF YOU WANT YOUR VOICES TO BE HEARD, THERE’S A PROCESS AND A MEANS TO DO IT. TRUMP’S MOST DEDICATED SUPPORTERS HERE ARE NOT THE LEAST BIT WORRIED. IN FACT, IF THIS CASE MOVES FORWARD, THEY BELIEVE IT COULD STRENGTHEN HIS POSITION WITHIN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. I THINK IT WILL IN THE NEW HAMPSHIRE PRIMARY. AND I THINK THIS IS JUST ANOTHER WAY OF OF A WITCH HUNT. WE’VE BEEN THIS WE’VE BEEN THROUGH THIS BEFORE MANY A TIME
