Arkansas women's basketball advances to WNIT Super 16!
The Arkansas Razorbacks women's basketball team beat Stephen F. Austin in the second round of the WNIT.
The Ladybacks beat the Ladyjacks 60-37 in the comforts of Bud Walton Arena.
Arkansas was led by Samara Spencer who had 27 points, shooting 4-8 from behind the arc.
The Hogs now head to the Super 16 of the WNIT. They're set to take on Texas Tech on Friday. They're playing their third straight game at Bud Walton Arena. Tickets are $10 and tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
The Hogs beat Louisiana Tech 69-47 in the first round. Arkansas has never lost a first-round WNIT game.
Arkansas won the 1999 WNIT, beating Wisconsin 67-64 in the championship game.
Wendi Willits-Wells was a member of that team. She said there's an advantage in playing tournament games at home in front of Arkansas fans.
"Just to be with our fans because, I mean, you know, Hog Nation is crazy," she said.
The men's basketball team is headed to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. They're set to take on UCONN Thursday in Las Vegas.
