ATP roundup: Stefanos Tsitsipas falls in Marseille quarters

Stefanos Tsitsipas came up short in his bid to win a third consecutive Open 13 Provence championship, falling 6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-2 to France's Pierre-Hugues Herbert in a Friday quarterfinal match at Marseille, France.

The second-seeded Greek player won just 64 percent of his service points while the unseeded Herbert won 79 percent of the points when he served.

Herbert's semifinal opponent will be French countryman Ugo Humbert, who rallied past another French player, Arthur Rinderknech, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (4).

Top-seeded Daniil Medvedev of Russia will match up with Australia's Matthew Ebden in the other semifinal. Medvedev advanced with a 6-2, 6-4 win over fifth-seeded Italian Jannik Sinner, and Ebden came from behind to upset third-seeded Russian Karen Khachanov 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Qatar ExxonMobil Open

Third-seeded Andrey Rublev of Russia saw his winning streak end Friday as he fell 6-3, 6-3 to fifth-seeded Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain in the semifinals at Doha, Qatar.

Rublev won last week's ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and he was the defending champion in Doha.

Georgia's Nikoloz Basilashvili grabbed the other spot in the final with a 7-6 (3), 6-1 win over the United States' Taylor Fritz.

Chile Dove MenCare Open

Home-country favorite Cristian Garin advanced to the semifinals in Santiago, Chile, with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Peru's Juan Pablo Varillas.

Garin's semifinal opponent will be 121st-ranked Colombian Daniel Elahi Galan, who upset Spain's Roberto Carballes Baena 7-6 (8), 6-3. Carballes Baena couldn't take advantage of two set points in the first-set tiebreaker.

The other semifinal will be an all-Argentine affair. Eighth-seeded Federico Delbonis got past Danish qualifier Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune 6-3, 6-3, and Facundo Bagnis rallied past fourth-seeded Serbian Laslo Djere 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
