District tennis tournaments for Brevard high schools in 2024

MELBOURNE Holy Trinity swept the District 7-1A tennis tournament team results on Tuesday, and Satellite matched that in 8-2A competition on Thursday. Both tournaments were at Fee Avenue Park.

The Tigers and Scorpions also took the titles of both boys and girls No. 1 singles.

Holy Trinity scored 21 points in boys competition, finishing ahead of runner-up Edgewood's 12 points and four other teams. Frederic Tu took the No. 1 singles individual championship, beating Florida Prep's Artiom Anzhilov in the final.

Other Tigers winning boys singles brackets were Ryder Collins at No. 2, Zacky Dzhenev at No. 3, Luke Rector at No. 4 and Daniel Chen at No. 5. Tu and Collins teamed for another win at No. 1 doubles, and the team of Dzhenev-Rector made it a sweep with a No. 2 doubles win.

Holy Trinity's Alya Dzheneva won girls No. 1 singles. Other girls details were not available.

Satellite's boys winners were No. 1 singles player Jack Lindstrom, No. 2 Marcus Hatzakis, No. 3 Roman Vigliotti, No. 4 Ben Fralliciari and Matthew Loftus at No. 5. Lindstrom teamed with Hatzakis to win No. 1 doubles, while Eau Gallie's Jacob Samler and Grant Wells claimed No. 2 doubles.

Maya Boysen won at No. 1 singles for the Scorps girls, Lana Stout at No. 2, Ava Noel at No. 3 and No. 4 Carly Farson. No. 1 doubles went to Boysen and Stout, and Noel and Farson took the No. 2 doubles win. Merritt Island's Maria Hansen won No. 5 singles.

College bound: Brevard senior high school athletes signing around county

In District 10-4A at Cocoa Beach Country Club, Vero Beach won both team championships, but Viera's Caroline Morrison took the No. 1 girls singles bracket and earned a spot at the FHSAA state tournament.

As the girls team runner-up, Melbourne earned a spot in next week's regional play. Beutli Saxon won the No. 5 girls singles title, and Ashton Potts won No. 2 singles.

Matthew Maroz won No. 3 singles for Viera.
